Flood Cooling is a feature that is often available on higher end CNC Machines. A nozzle is aimed at the work piece or at the the tip of the cutting tool and a steady flood of coolant is applied. The coolant is typically recovered through a recovery basin located under the machine bed. A steady flow of coolant is effective at keeping the cutting tool cool and well lubricated, as well as to remove large pieces of cutting debris.
